Orangeman

24 - inch height         4½ - inch flower

A superb versatile heirloom.

From George Yeld in Yorkshire, England, who Registered it in 1902 as follows:

" 24-30 in. height. Extra Early, Rebloom. Extended bloom: open 16 hours
or more. Dormant, Diploid, YOM1:. Yellow-orange medium self. "

Bright stars of clear rich orange. Narrow petals of typical spider form, assigned
a "Spider Ratio of 4.00:1" by the American Hemerocallis Society. An important garden and landscape plant, though not universally known despite more than a century in cultivation.
Stunning en masse.

Contrary to Yeld's initial description citing "rebloom" over 100 years ago,
our records in Connecticut dating back to 1973 make no
mention of rebloom. (About descriptions).

Blooms well in shade.
